OUR MISSION:

As a responsible and eco-conscious company, we are committed to preserving and protecting our local ecology. We take great care in harvesting and utilizing lumber that would otherwise be destroyed, repurposing it to create unique, handcrafted pedals that will have a new life making music. Our selection of beautiful, exotic Florida hardwoods is sourced from trees that have been lost during hurricanes and tropical storms, as well as from recovered timber that we rescue and recycle in partnership with local authorities, arborists, and conservation groups. We promote sustainable practices that benefit both our environment and our community – we’re literally saving the trees!

OUR STORY:

Born out of necessity and built for the professional musician, The Pivot Pedal story started in Longwood, Florida. After years of trying other solo foot drums on the market only to discover their drawbacks and design flaws – Pivot Percussion founder, Shaun Williams, decided to take the simple concept of foot percussion back to the drawing board. His objective was clear: to create a simple user-friendly foot percussion instrument that offered a superior playing experience. After several attempts and failures he finally hit on something great – a pivoting design that eliminated the dreaded leg fatigue. But Shaun didn’t stop there. He pushed the boundaries even further by inventing a revolutionary passive electromagnetic pickup specifically for the Pivot Pedal’s Kick Drum Sound. That went so well he set out to create a secondary accent sound to accompany the kick drum, and so the savvy Maraca sound was carefully developed. Then, to enhance the Pivot Pedal’s versatility, he made this a modular system by encasing these unique sounds into removeable capsules allowing players to mix and match different Pivot Sound Capsules with different Pivot Pedals to create the perfect setup. Now players can take their performance to the next level by combining these two awesome Pivot Pedal sounds, with one pedal under each foot, while singing and playing their favorite instrument.
